1. Who we are

Discover Dilworth is an independently operated editorial website covering the Dilworth neighborhood of Charlotte, North Carolina. For privacy purposes, the operator of this site is the "controller" of any personal data described below. You can reach us through our Contact page.

2. What we collect

We collect very little, and none of it is required to read the site:

• Contact and correction form. Our forms open your own email client with a pre-filled message. The content you choose to send — name, email address, and your message — goes directly to our inbox as an email. We do not store form submissions in a database on this site.
• Analytics. If you consent to analytics cookies through our cookie banner, we collect aggregate, non-identifying usage data — pages viewed, approximate location at the city level, device type and referring site — to understand which content is useful. We do not use analytics to build individual profiles for advertising.
• Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure keeps standard technical logs (IP address, timestamp, requested URL) for security and reliability. These are not used for marketing.

We do not require account creation, do not store passwords, and do not maintain a server-side database of visitor profiles.

4. How we use information

We use the limited data described above to respond to messages, understand aggregate readership, keep the site secure, and improve our editorial coverage. 5. Sponsorship and data

Our four featured local partners — a custom builder, a real estate brokerage, an interior design studio and an AV integrator — sponsor this site financially. They do not receive visitor data from us automatically. If you request an introduction through our contact form, we will share only the details necessary to make that introduction, and only with your knowledge.

6. Retention

Email correspondence is retained in our inbox for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to and document the exchange, and is deleted on request. Aggregate, non-identifying analytics data is retained by our analytics provider according to its own retention window, typically well under two years.

7. Your rights — California (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information we hold about them, request deletion of that information, correct inaccurate information, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. You may exercise these rights by submitting a request through our Privacy Rights Request page. 8. Your rights — European visitors (GDPR)

9. Children's privacy

This site is intended for a general adult audience interested in real estate and neighborhood information. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and the site is not directed at children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

We use industry-standard hosting and transport encryption (HTTPS) to protect data in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we do not maintain a database of sensitive personal information that would make this site an attractive target.
